Fox & Hounds

Here are a couple of pictures of friends of the family, Peggy & Tom Kaupp, that went out to eat with us at Fox & Hounds Restaurant. Peggy & Tom has been going through health battles with their twins. They have defied all odds and they went out to eat with us to tell Matt to keep up his spirits and only God has a plan for him. Peggy is a RN and we also gave her Matt,s 2 CT scans to her for her Dr. to look at. It was a lot of fun and we really enjoyed the night! Thank you for all of your inspirational words!

Friends from Maryland

Here are a couple of pictures of Bill and Leity Herman, a friend of the family that opened their home to our family while we are in Washington DC. They live in Maryland, about 45 minutes from the hospital, so it is a short commute to the hospital for us. Thank you for your kindness during these times.

Back to Work!

My dad's side of the family.
Matt and Casey at the anniversary dinner.

Matt has been keeping very busy now a days. He has gone back to work for Engine Power in Oconomowoc on a assembly line. He is very excited to be getting out of the house and having something to do. Last week Matt had a chemo treatment but felt better than ever. He didn't get sick at all and didn't sleep as much as he has been the past couple of treatments. Saturday he had a very busy day. He went to his Grandma and Grandpa's 50th wedding anniversary and then also attended a sock hop charity event for him and another child at our church. He did a lot of dancing and was pretty tired by the end of the night. On Sunday, Matt went with Casey and other family members to the Watertown Bridal Show. They were able to get some helpful information for the wedding but have plenty of time to get things figured out!

Unfortunately, last week we had to put down our oldest dog Meeks because she became very sick. That was a really sad day for the Krueger family. She was a great dog and will be truly missed!

We have also been getting ready for the benefit, working on flyers and selling tickets! It is going to be an exciting event and Matt is really excited to see everyone. On Sunday, the day after the benefit, Matt will be heading down to DC to get ready for his surgery.

Thank God for everything he has blessed us with and for all of your support and prayers. THANK YOU! Please continue to keep Matt in your prayers!

Washington D.C. Appointment

Matt traveled to Washington DC this week to meet with Dr. Sugarbaker. They set the date for his next surgery for February 24, 2009. He will have to be down there by the 23rd for prehospital procedures to get him ready for surgery. Bill Herman (friend of the family) and his family welcomed Matt and his family in to their home during the doctor visit. We would like to thank them for their hospitality and kindness during the stay in Washington DC.
Also, if their is anyone who would like to help with the benefit in some way, such as selling tickets, hanging up posters, or collecting door prizes. please let Donna Hahn or Linda Hepp know.
We would like to thank God for letting us get home safe and sound and thank you for everyone's continued prayers.

Ping Pong Tournament!

The ping pong tournament went really well. There was a great show of people and it ran smoothly. Thank you for everyone that helped put it together for Matt and his family. Also thank you for everyone that participated and came to watch. We really appreciate the support. Jenny and Mike got out right away in the first round. Nate also lost in singles but made it a little further. Matt along with doubles partner Billy Buccholtz took second place with Casey as a cheerleader. It was a lot of fun! They was a lot of food, raffles, and music all night.
Right now, everyone is packing and getting ready to head to Washington D.C. tonight. We will keep you updated. After this doctor appointment, we will know more details for Matt's next up and coming surgery.
Please continue to keep Matt in your prayers.

Another Chemo treatment!

Matt had another chemo treatment today. He feels alright he said, but a little nauseous. He was able to eat a little supper tonight which is great for him on his first night of chemo. He is pretty exhausted these first couple days. Mom, Dad, Casey, and Matt are getting ready for their trip to Washington D.C. next week too. Please continue to keep Matt in your prayers.

What a week!

Matt had appointments Monday and Friday at the Cancer clinic for blood draws to check his white blood count. On both days, he had a high count which was in the normal range! On Tuesday, Matt had another CT scan which showed that his cancer has not spread and is contained! What great news! On Wednesday, Matt was the driver for his family to the hospital to get their colonoscopies. Everyone's turned out fine and it looked great. There were no polyps or any other abnormalities. Also last night, Matt went to the Buck's game with his dad, Grandma Aud, and little brother Nate. It turned out to be a great game and they all had a lot of fun!
Matt is feeling good and has not felt sick this week. This up and coming Monday he has another chemo treatment. Also on January 12, Matt will be traveling to Washington DC for a consultation with Dr. Sugarbaker. They will be discussing details of his next up and coming surgery.
Hope everyone has a safe and happy new year!
