Dr. Visit for Matt

Matt went to Johnson Creek cancer clinic Monday and had a appointment with Dr. Eastman. Matt decided to start his chemo treaments on Friday, May 1. He will do three months of chemo, every other week. Just like last time. This time we will do a tumor marker test before chemo so during chemo we can take the same tumor marker test to see if he is filling up with cancer. Matt weighed in at 139#. Dr. Eastman said he look great and his check up was good. He will do lab work on Thursday, April 30 and then chemo on May 1. He will have different medicine for chemo. This time he will take pills instead of being hooked up to a pump for 48 hours. Matt agreed to do this for three months. Hopefully he can take the pills. Matt is not very fond of taking pills.

With lots of prayers hopefully Matt will not fil up with cancer. Matt has been keeping up his great attitude! This will also take him a long way!!

Eventful few Days!

My Grandma Auds came out of her surgery just fine. She spent the night in the hospital to get some sleep. While she was sleepiing my Mom went to the emergency room with abdominal pain. They did a C-T scan and found she had a very, very bad appendix. She went to the ER at 5:30 and she was in surgery by 9:30. By 5:00 in the evening she said she felt better and wanted to go home. She left and went home and slept all night. She is sore, tired and has a headache but otherwise not feeling to bad.

Today is Matt and Casey's Anniversay. Matt made Casey supper; chichen nuggets, corn, mashed potatoes and brownies. He made it all himself. He also had a dish of fresh strawberries!!

Matt is feeling better. Monday the 20th he has a Doctor appointment with his onologist in Johnson Creek to decide on a plan for chemo. Otherwise he is feeling pretty good. Just needs to put on some weight.

Thank you for all your prayer for the family!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to all! Matt had a very busy weekend. He has been feeling much better since he has been home from Watertown Hospital. Matt has been working on his car and putting a radio in his brother, Nate's car. Then he went out to eat to celebrate Jerry Hepp's birhtday! Happy Birthday Jerry!

Sunday Matt went to church and Pastor had a nice pray for Matt and his Grandma Aud, who now found out she has breast cancer. She is having surgery today to take the lump out. Our prayers are with her.

Matt and Casey had Easter dinner with her family and then they came and had Easter snacks with Matt's family. Matt got to spend time with all his cousins and Aunts and Uncle and Grandma Jo and Grandpa Tony. He got to spend time with his cousin, Sophia who is his God Child. We had a Easter hunt and then sat around the table eating and drinking and telling stories. We laughed until our cheeks hurt! We had alot of fun!

Thank you for your continued Prayers!

Home from the Hospital!

Matt had a fun day on Saturday. He took his car to the race track and ran a race a few times. It was a long day for him but he had a lot of fun!

Sunday Matt woke up and went to church. He came home and started to eat lunch. He had two bites and had to go to the rest room. He came out and call for "Mom". I came and he told me he had vomited in the toliet. He needed to rest awhile. He called for me again and again he had vomited. Casey came over to help make him feel better. He vomited again. Matt vomited four times within 2 hours. Then he started to have diarrhea. Casey and I took him up to the hospital. Matt was dehydrated. They started to give him an IV. They took some blood tests. They said his white blood count was up to 24. They decided to do further testing. They admitted him to the hospital. We found out later morning that Matt had a kinked intestine. He had several bags of IV's and they said his intestine worked the kink out itself. Jenny brought him home at 1:00 in the afternoon.

Instead of resting Matt felt the need to clean the garage so he can bring his camaro in. We got the garabe cleaned and Matt's car is resting comfortablly in the garage.

We are so happy that Matt feels better! Thank you for all your prayers!

Good Score!

Matt went to Johnson Creek Cancer Clinic on Wednesday to do a blood test. This test is a "Cancer Marker Test". This is the one that shows if the cancer is growing inside of him. When we were in Washington D.C. they did 5 tumor marker test. Four of the tests showed normal and one of the tests showed of the charts he was filled with cancer. It is a "CEA" Blood test. In Washington D.C. his score for this test was 26 . . . off the wall. Way to hight! Dr. Sugarbaker wants that number to be between 0-3 and Johnson Creek told us the number could be between 0-5. I knew I had to call Johnson Creek on Thursday to find out Matt's score. I was affarid to call and find out the score. Karen, the nurse in Johnson Creek called and told me that Matt's score was 1.5!! Yeah!! He is doing good! He will still have to have Chemo. Waiting to see exactly what kind and how much. Very happy to hear his score was 1.5.
When I told Matt he was very, very happy to hear!!

All thoughs prayers are working! Please keep Matt in your prayers that his cancer stays away for a long time!! Matt and Casey have way to many plans. They have booked the hall for their wedding in July 16, 2011!
